CALL FOR NEW SHORT!
Several cast members and specific crew
positions available for a short film production in and around Oak Cliff the
second and third weekends in August
with pickups the final weekend if necessary. This short is part of a larger multi-director
feature production with a guaranteed screening at the
Angelika (
****CAST NEEDED****
MAIN CHARCTER - 14 yr old girl - any race. Looking for dramatic actress who looks
14-16.
GABRIEL - Male, looks 20-30ish Drop dead beautiful, charming and charismatic. A
real angel.
JEREMY - 20-something male, any race. Needs to look like someone you don't want
to mess with. Abusive, controlling
personality
and little bit stupid in an uneducated, unsophisticated way.
LOUISE - 30-something mom of main character. We'll match racially to the actress
cast in the lead role. Lower-class
upbringing
and attitude. Haggard looking from a rough life.
THREE FRIENDS OF MAIN CHARACTER - two female, one male. Any race. Needs to look
age 14-16. Male will be
a
flamboyant gay "club kid" type.
NON-SPEAKING/MINIMAL ("reactionary") DIALOGUE CHARATERS -
"BUDDHA" - ASIAN MALE - 30-40. Rotund, pleasant. Requires dressing
like the traditional depiction (EXAMPLE:

). Owning costume is a plus.
"
"ODIN" - burly Nordic man, older. Will require dress appropriate to
the character. NON-CARTOONISH
costume
depicting the Norse god a plus.
OTHER PARTS EXIST AND ARE PRE CAST but we're also in need of some extras.
****CREW NEEDS****
DIGITAL EFFECTS – Experience with AfterEffects and/or
Lightwave. Call to discuss needs. Demo reel a must.
LIGHTING
DIRECTOR - need someone experienced with lighting for HD shoots indoor and out.
Demo reel a must.
AUDIO DIRECTOR - Prior, proven experience a must. Need demo reel.
COSTUME DESIGNER - Submit photos and/or video or prior work. Experience with extremely
minimal budgets a plus.
SET DRESSER/PROP MASTER - Please submit photos or video of prior work
PRODUCTION ASSISTANT - NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. Great work ethic, great attitude
and a strong desire
to work
on a resume-worthy production.
ALL POSITIONS NON-PAID, but you will be fed (and
well!) every day of the shoot, receive full credit for all work
provided
and a copy of the final production as well as entry into the screening.
