Note by Note is a new documentary featuring the talent behind "From the Lone Star to the Gulf Coast," a CD produced to benefit musicians affected by hurricane Katrina. UPDATE! Tempest just returned from New Orleans, completing interviews with John Autin, Bart Ramsey, Greg Finsley and Big Daddy O' to add to the already awesome shoots with the Dallas-based acts. We'll begin editing in ernest soon! NBN started out as Tempest Productions' entry into the first International Documentary Challenge, an 8-minute piece of the same name that barely scratched the surface of the emotional, economical and physical impact on what many consider to be the soul of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast - her musicians. "From the Lone Star" features 16 tracks recorded by amazing artists from both North Texas and the Gulf Coast region, each donating their time and talent, each with a personal story. From Queen For A Day front man Greg Finsley, a Dallas native living in New Orleans who almost didn't get out in time, to Dennis Cavalier, raised in New Orleans' Ninth Ward and making his living playing in North Texas, to legendary "Texas Rock & Blues Man" John Nitzinger - we're going in-depth into why they're involved, the touching stories behind the songs and what it means to take care of their own in light of the government's blundering of the Katrina and Rita aftermath. New Orleans has been completely destroyed several times before, and each time she came back. She's coming back again, that's for certain. Brick by brick, soul by soul... ...Note by Note.
